She Needs a Fork! Or Does She?

I say Hillary is done. So do most others paying attention, at this point

Hillary failed to show strong enough in Indiana, and Obama cleaned her clock in North Carolina. This puts her campaign now officially into “sputtering but indignantly fighting to still seat Florida and Michigan” mode.

The DNC is left now with the task of cleaning up their pathetic mess created by Howard Dean concerning their fumbling attempt to punish those two States. Were it not for Dean and Florida/Michigan, I am not sure Obama would have survived to this point. More on that below, and how the scars from Wright would have made a difference earlier.

The aftermath will be interesting to watch, because they have to unite a party now. How do they create a situation where Hillary can get out honorably? Can the loser lose graciously at this point?

I think not, and- wait a minute…

Hardball Without the Balls

Barack Obama can’t seem to take real heat. He is really clearly off his game when put on the defensive.

In the last few weeks, we have seen Mr. “I have a scripted platitude rich response for everything” reduced to “I can’t make up my mind which excuse to use, and please forgive me for my stammering and long pauses while I figure out how the hell to do proper damage control…”

In the ABC debate, Obama was put in a box he does not like, and one he does not deal with well. Which box? The one where

A Fool and His Money…

A Fool and His Money...

John McCain is now taking public funds for the election- to the tune of about $84 million.

Yes, I know, I know… it is ironic that Mr. Campaign finance reform can’t make money, while Democrats can. In a year where we have an unpopular war (that ‘popularity’ depends on “success”, and few of us can determine how to adequately define that), rising gas prices, and a recession in the making, it is no surprise that a Republican would have a hard time raising cash.

It has been intimated that Obama claimed HE would take public funding if the Republican candidate agreed to. But we know how things like that go. What is said today by a Democrat is quickly changed by tomorrow. One might even claim that the Democrat party is the “Woman’s Prerogative” party… always reserving the right to change one’s mind; or story; or plea.

When one considers the political faux pas’ of the two jokers on the left; when one considers the inexperience of Obama, and the fake experience of Hillary; when one considers the lies concerning their history; when one considers close ties to racists— it is absolutely perplexing the amount of money Obama, and yes, even Hillary have been able to raise.

One might claim that they have raised record levels of cash due to record levels of interest and sharp political tactics. I would say that the only thing they have raised is the interest of a party of fools…

…and we know what they say about fools and money.

While the groundswell of money from the left is impressive, we must simply remember that even rich fools will falter. Money cannot save stupidity, buy a reputation, or create a history of experience.

“Let’s Talk Issues… Except that one…”

Well, here it comes… the “Let’s talk issues” deflection.

With all of the heat that Clinton and Obama are taking for basically lying, the Dems on the left are beginning to chant the mantra “Why don’t we talk about issues? Let’s talk about healthcare, the war, the economy, blah blah blah…”

Newsflash for all of you liberals… to adults with morals and principles (i.e., conservatives, most moderates, and some democrats), character IS an issue- perhaps the most important one of all, as it is an indicator as to how you will lead, and what you are willing (or not willing) to do in the face of adversity.

So when we hear conservatives bring up over and over the most recent lies of

Drawing Out the Rats

In listening to John McCain in an interview with Hannity, it dawned on me that Fox has a unique opportunity to influence the democRATS, namely Obama and Clinton, who are avoiding the network like the plague. Look at that - plague and rats in the same sentence.

Ironically, the same party (Democrat) that from time to time hints about something called the ‘fairness’ doctrine is also led by politicians who run like chickens from, well, ‘FOX’es when it comes to dealing with Fox news. They want fairness, but not in a free market. They are well aware that Fox doesn’t “play fair” by asking hard probing questions which puts them in compromising situations. Fox asks follow up questions when you dodge the question or fail to answer it. Fox plays - um - hardball. I guess Chris Mathews is going to have to come up with a new name for his show.

Anyway- I digress, so back to the ‘idea’.

Fox has access anytime to McCain, of course. And Fox has to be careful that they don’t show favoritism to McCain, as they are somewhat required to offer “equal time”. But wait a minute! What if you are having trouble not only making the horse drink, but getting him to the water as well?

Clinton and Obama surely have been asked repeatedly to come to Fox. Any show. They dodge for the aforementioned reasons. But, Fox is NOT obligated to

“The Audacity of Rationalizing”

Obama’s Mistakes

In a speech given today in Philadelphia, Barack Obama finally proved he is fallible. While many other pundits and sites will be talking about some other more obvious problems with Obama’s forlorn attempt at being as powerful with a speech as Lincoln, or MLK, I am going to target some of the more difficult to spot concerns.

1. Conditional Hypocritical Patriotism

Who is this man?

ObamaFlag

Is this possibly the man who does not like to put his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance? Is this the man who will not wear a lapel Flag Pin? Is this the man who feels it is to jingoistic and disingenuous to act patriotic in a celebratory manner?

Well then, what the hell is he doing surrounded by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8… yes EIGHT… US flags during his speech on which his political career will pivot?

2. Rationalization of Behavior

This excerpt from the speech really set me off:

“Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely - just as I’m sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors,

Obama Intends to Enlighten Us

Barack Obama has made it clear that he intends to give a speech on Wednesday, in which he will probably try his damndest to distance himself from Pastor Wright. Expect to hear the word “former” a lot in this speech.

Obama won’t answer questions about the Pastor at this point. Even after his speech, he does not intend to answer questions. I don’t find this transparent; I don’t find this mature or manly; and I don’t find this avoidance of taking questions to be very courageous. Obama knows that answering questions keeps it alive, and he just wants to kill this as soon as possible. But avoiding answering questions will hurt him, this time.

Obama said “I think

Obama and Clinton Ticket?

Plenty of rumor revloving around the hints and subliminal signals from Hillary suggesting that some kind of joint ticket deal is a possibility. I am amazed at how many of the more solid GOP pundits actually are falling for that one. The possibility is about ZERO, as I have said before.

Why? Not because they could not win. Not because it would not be beneficial to their party. And not because Hillary would not suggest it or benefit from it.

The reason is, Obama

Longhorn Longshot- The GOP Bait and Switch on Hillary

Longhorn Longshot- The GOP Bait and Switch on Hillary

The Clinton hating members of the GOP (me included) all would love to see the Clinton’s go bye-bye, at just about any cost. In Texas, there is an interesting possibility which allows the GOP to have a hand in the demise of Billary… but recent rumblings from the Lone Star State are indicating a potential switch in direction.

In Texas (or “Tay-Hass”, if you are an illegal) they have an interesting system. You see, the GOP’ers can go out and vote for Democrat candidates in the Caucus after the Primary.

Up until now the conventional wisdom was that many of the GOP would go out in the Caucus’s after the Primaries and vote for Obama, thus putting a stake in the heart of the Clinton Monster. But some rumblings from Old Mexico are now surfacing, revealing that there is some kind of movement to “revive” Hillary, and keep her IN the race for a bit longer.

No question, the right would love to see Hillary on a political stretcher, leaving the game with a season (or career) ending injury. However, if the GOP has anything to do with it, that sentiment has now changed to an attitude that it is better to keep “Dumb and Dumber” beating on each other for a bit longer.

I tend to agree. Obama has a huge warchest of money that McCain does not, and he needs to spend a bit of that on beating Hillary. Additionally, it is clear that the need for Hillary to point out differences between her and Obama are clarifying the starkness of both Obama and Clinton against the positions of McCain.

I personally was hoping and willing to predict that Hillary would be done Tuesday. I am STILL going to predict she will be. She will likely lose Texas. But I HOPE she does not, and she has a reason to fight on.

In a way, either way, I/we win…
