Preparing McCain for Obama
Were we to presume that John McCain and Barack Obama are going to go toe to toe in the General Election, I have said it on here before that all McCain has to do is keep punching and punching with the terror issue and Obama’s lack of experience, or proper foreign policy perspective. Barack has gone even farther in the last day to prove that he is naive, by stating that Al Qaeda in Iraq is a result of McCain and Bush’s policy gaffes, and somehow that makes any kind of difference as to what we have to accomplish there.
News for Obama: If you are going to argue about how the bus got into the ditch, as you put it, you are not focused on the issue of the bus being IN the ditch. At some point, the past is not as important as the need for clear and immediate direction into the future. I imagine Obama standing in the cockpit of a plane that is going to crash, saying something like “I TOLD you to check the fuel…”
Great. You may or may not be right, Barack. But that is not important now, is it?
And consequently, whether or not Al Qaeda in Iraq was IN Iraq before the war, is there not a ‘beauty’ to fighting the war there? Taking the battle to them? Dictating the terms of war to them, as opposed to them dictating the place and time to us?
All of this has caused me to create some statements that McCain can use in the case he and Obama wind up taking shots at each other… Some you have heard, some you may have not.
“I am not sure your pet program has any importance until we win the war on terror. Dead Christians cannot use (insert liberal program here).”
“Personally, I am not ashamed to wear the American Flag pin… and I think it is a mistake for any potential leader to insinuate that wearing one is phony or unimportant. Once you are elected, your own personal opinions sometimes have to take a back seat. Ideology during wartime should never undermine the ability of a leader to help America prosper and win based on unity and hope, even if the symbol is a simple flag pin. “
“I swore to protect this Country, as a young man, before you were born. I was a prisoner of war when you were 6 years old. I know of no defining experience in your life which would qualify you to represent a Country as great as ours during war.”
“My hand over my heart during the pledge of allegiance means I put my Country first, even when and if she is wrong, because I know without her, I am nothing.”
“A soldiers oath to protect this Country versus enemies, both foreign and domestic, does not include the right to evaluate the worth of the “mission”. I would die for my country, right or wrong, and that is what that oath means to those who make it. Why would anyone take that same oath to serve under someone who cannot wear a pin with pride, or put their hand over their heart during the pedge?”
“You have stated you reserve the right to go back into Iraq to eliminate Al Qaeda, should they build up after our departure militarily. Why would you give up ground that so many fought so hard for, and spilled blood for, only to have to go back in an take it again? Do you have any doubt Al Qaeda in Iraq would re-emerge and rebuild if we left?”
I have heard it said over and over that Hillary would have been easier to beat, please give us Hillary… But I have to say that once this General Election heats up, I think that if McCain keeps his head and is guided well, he and we will knock Obama on his anti-jingoistic ass.
I would love to hear what lines readers think McCain could use against Obama as well.

Hey! America has a NEW FRIEND! Iranian President Ahmadinejad has sent his congratulations to President Elect Obama! This is our first sign of "Hope" and "Change". "Yes we CAN befriend idiots!" Thanks Barack!!!
Miserable campaign. Miserable circumstances economically. Not the greatest VP choice. OUTSTANDING concession speech. Made me proud.
Michael Moore, gushing hope in his own personal message to us all, stated "But today we celebrate this triumph of decency over personal attack, of peace over war, of intelligence over a belief that Adam and Eve rode around on dinosaurs just 6,000 years ago." Wow. I'm at a loss for words. This doesn't even deserve more than that word- "Wow". Does obesity cloud the brain, too?
