The Cost of Making a Point
As I go to bed tonight, I fear my country has changed. I could speak eloquently for a while, write, pontificate, have some fun with sarcasm or cynicism, maybe some jovial sardonic wit…
…but no… I just want to leave you with this…
Those of you who thought it best to just sit out the last election because McCain was not “conservative enough”… those of you who felt you would “send a message” to the party…
All I can say is- BRAVO!!! Holy shit freaking gosh damn BRAVO!
Soooooo many of us warned you of the dangers of such a move. So many times thousands of people begged you not to make such a foolish move. You, yes you- some of you— you felt it would just work itself out over time, and things would somehow right themselves once the “party” realized how “upset” you all were, and how “important” your votes were.
Wow. That worked out great, didn’t it?
I hope you understand the cost of your stupidity, your insolent childish anger, now.
So the next time you have this “I will take my ball and go home” mentality, remember this… if you’re not at the table, you are probably on the menu.
Great job of clowning around with serious matters. Sleep well. And next time, maybe just follow instead of trying to lead. You cannot lead voting “present”.

THE LOSS OF OUR REPUBLIC — YOU’RE RIGHT
I love to see Hispanics, over 60% Mexican, marching in the streets of Phoenix, AZ. They are rowdy, loud and nasty. They throw water bottles and I feel sorry for the police. Violent Mexican politics is here but the news reports on those terrible Tea Party people who MIGHT DO something.
This is not just about health care…It’s about the incremental loss of our republic…THATS A FAR BIGGER CONCERN…YA think?
My sentiments exactly. How do we repeal this pile of crap?! My son will now have to become a “brownshirt” just to get a studetn loan to afford college. That’s not even mentioning the “healthcare” we’re going to get. I hope Stupak got a lot in his deal, b/c it seems the only “principles” he stood by were the same as those that Ben Nelson stood by – Egoism.
I had the unfortunate experience of caring for my Italian father at the end of his life under universal, single payer care in Italy. We do NOT want this here – no one cares, the care that MAY be given is inadequate at best; I could go on and on. The scary thing is, that this will be worse than a European model. God help us.
