Stimulating Welfare
Careful What You Stimulate!
Well, the stimulus bill looks to go down as planned by the Democrats as a big expand the government tit programs and employees farce under the guise of “job creation”. We all know the Dims are masters at saying something politically correct or intentionally obtuse and misguiding when what they are really doing is something like, say, oh, trying to legalize drugs, or make it easier to vote three times.
There will be plenty of time to work on bashing the stupidity that lies in the details of this back room Chicago style force-feeding by fiat porkulus bill in the days to come. Just how badly this country just got screwed will take years to understand, and longer to undo. But, we have to take it a step at a time, and wake up tomorrow and hope we can stand to think about what just happened.
After we get done rigging the brakes on the vehicles of Snow, Collins, and Specter, of course… <nudge, wink>
Change means progress?
The left would have you believe that change is good, staying put is not. Time will tell on that one. They will also preach that progress means to “move on”, so to speak. But, we just took a huge step backwards.
Almost surely surviving both iterations of this bill, and making it to the final copy, will be a step backwards concerning welfare. In fact, it doesn’t just go back, it makes it worse.
The welfare reform of the Clinton era, largely creditable to the Republicans, was intended to instill accountability and a progressively smaller benefit to those milking the welfare system, encouraging people to get OFF of welfare, as opposed to creating a machine that makes it lucrative to be lazy.
According to the Heritage Foundation, the newly proposed program will actually reward States for INCREASING their welfare rolls, by paying 80 percent of the cost for every new family that the state enrolls IN welfare.
Add to this the fact that of course, during the election cycle, several times the GOP candidates stated that the Democrats would repeal welfare reform, only to hear the Deomcrats tell us that was just flat out a lie… wrong.. won’t happen…
The estimated cost? $22,500 for every poor person in the US, amounting to a cost to you of about $10k a year for every family paying income tax.
Not only are the Dims intentionally creating a situation that is perverted in nature by encouraging welfare rolls to expand, but they are in fact undoing one of the proud pieces of legislation of their “first” savior, Bill Clinton.
Robert Rector puts it very very well:
Both the Senate and House stimulus bills are Trojan horses that deliberately exploit anxiety about the current recession to conceal their destruction of the foundation of welfare reform and a massive expansion of the welfare system. Since its enactment in the mid-1990s, such reform has proven to be a very successful policy that dramatically reduced welfare dependency and child poverty.
These are the people that are, as I said before they got completely into office, beginning to dismantle your country to serve their own ideals… wait… they hate people with ideals… principals… wait… they hate that word too.
…they’re just flat out crazy children… mom and dad out of town, house to themselves… just found the keys to the car…

The natural laws of the universe guarantee this nonsense will reverse itself, and these crooks (yes, I said crooks), will get exactly what they deserve. I’d be hard pressed to predict their karma, but how about a few lifetimes of living in someplace like Sudan in abject poverty.
It’s pretty much a waste of energy getting upset at the fools that continue to vote them in. We just need to make sure when the tide turns our side does it right. We have got to quit electing turncoats like McCain to challenge the left.
