Obama’s Achilles Heel
Health Care? No… Birth Certificate? No…
Iran? No…
What then is Barry’s achilles heel?
A F G H A N I S T A N
Barry made promises about Afghanistan. He made promises about Al-Qaeda. Both (promises) are faltering, and at least while Bush was in there, we had a policy in Afghanistan that worked, and was winning. Barry is in office 8 months, and we start getting reports that we are no longer winning.
Why? Because Al-Qaeda is no longer truly “in” Afghanistan. It is mostly in Pakistan. And, because Barry has not been adjusting to, and dealing with, that fact. He has been too busy with Chicago Olympic bids, vacations, punishing wicked bank people, talking about health care reform that the left- only- wants…
So, I have a theory- a cynical one- about the military, foreign policy- and what is currently going on.
Rumor was that General McChrystal would want 40,000 troops to surge in Afghanistan to take care of the problems in that country, restore order and balance of democracy that we had instilled, and oust Taliban forces , who often are working with Al-Qaeda, of course.
We have heard from the White House, leaks that Joe Biden might be preferring drone attacks on Pakistan and less or no surge in Afghanistan. Then, suddenly, we hear that McChrystal is NOT asking for 40,000… but rather 60,000!!!
Holy Smokes. This is an Iraq sized surge, that seems to be slightly out of proportion with what we might expect for the amount of unrest in Afghanistan. So, why would this higher number be publicly being discussed?
One reason I can think of that makes sense is:
The military hates a liberal commander who has no commitment to winning. Years of pussy-footing around means more dead, and the enemy has time to adjust; we don’t address problems straight on militarily and waste our time with political and diplomatic approaches; annnnnnd… Commander’s in Chief who do not listen to the ground commanders are never highly respected by the troops. After all, war is something you fight… not something you talk about, or negotiate.
So what might be happening here, with this sudden inflation of troop surge numbers? Well… I believe, it might be a setup.
McChrystal wants out, and he won’t settle for anything but success. So, if he thinks he needs 40,000, then why not ask for 60,000? I mean, if you have the bodies, why not ask for them?
On the other hand, if McChrystal is savvy enough to KNOW that Barry would never go to 60k… what does he do to Barry, but making that number public knowledge?
He (McChrystal) wisely sets the stage for either his (and OUR nation’s) success militarily in Afghanistan by getting overkill on troops so we can succeed… ooooooorrrrrrrrrr…
…he sets up Barry for criticism when we fail…
IF we don’t get the 60k, and Barry takes Biden style half measures, then Barry is open for huge, Vietnam style criticism for not giving the troops the support they need for success.
As conservatives, I would prefer we WIN in Afghanistan. However, we (conservatives) know this will take serious intensity and commitment- speak softly, big stick- so to speak. But, I personally think Barry is going to fail in Afghanistan.
The irony might be that in the end, Bush will leave behind a legacy of democracy in Iraq, on a war that the left found unnecessary and a distraction- while the left LOSES a winnable war in Afghanistan that they thought was the more necessary and justifiable war, because they let it slowly deteriorate while focusing on Health Care, Stimulus, the Olympics, punishing the CIA and bank executives who flew on jets…
You get the picture…
The left has had their eye off the “terror” ball far too long. In the end, Afghanistan will overcome Obama, as he does not have the heart and courage to make the decisions necessary in order to insure success.

I found this Mike Peters editorial cartoon the same day I read this blog post - eerily similar statements on the situation, I’d say.
