Well so far it would seem Obama is just a politician. He's made promises that he can't/won't follow through on.

McCain lost the election because of the state of the economy. Obama promised to fix that, but already he's back-peddling saying that it may be too late to really be able to save it.

More of the same... but not McCain. Pity really I thought McCain had a better long term plan, but I guess the "now" crowd got what they wanted. Pity that tomorrow is just a day away.

At least you're giving the man a chance to lead, unlike some of the comments.

Geez, quit crying about an election lost or stolen (Remember Gore & Florida?). Or, even worse...keep fanning your internal flames of hate all the way to the fringes of society.

The country gave your guy 8 years & by any rational persons assessment he screwed the pooch. Give this new pres a fair chance to lead. And if your readers expect it to all come together in his 1st 100 days then they are as juvenile as their comments.

Sometimes, I forget that even though in my own mind I am trying to write in a "suggestive" manner, some people will take it literally. Often what I try to do in here is reflect in a general manner what may or may not have transpired about any given issue, leaving it up to the reader to determine what he or she thinks.

At the time I wrote that, I was suggesting that many thought Palin was a problem, not insisting that it was a consensus that she was indeed. She was just one of many instances of what was possibly standing against McCain. I only mentioned one, but could have mentioned others.

I will say, definitively, that "I" feel Palin hurt as much as she helped- she was a net positive for the base, a net negative for the moderates. A wash. The only time you want a "wash" for VP is if you are solid enough a Presidential candidate that nobody CARES who your VP is. McCain was not such a candidate.

Good read. Take exception to the assertion that Palin, even partially, was responsible for McCain's defeat.

Glad to see a group of optimistic people. No- fanatic people. It has always been my opinion that extremists on any side are bad. Blue or red. Nothing gets done with extremists as preconceived notions always block worthwile advancement. I would hate to see a congress made up of members with the non-productive attitudes that most of you seem to have. Alternatively, citizens and lawmakers with open minds and solutions at hand will make this country a better place.

Oh, and one other thing, in honor of Martin Luther King who said that a person should be judged, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character...Based on that criteria, I do not see MLK voting for BO.

Can I puke? When Clinton became Pres. I knew nothing about him except that he thought he was a 'pretty' guy, all caught up in himself. My first impression of "puke", was borne out, time and again. My impression of BO is similar. Not an original thought comes from him; he verbalizes the identical phrases Dems were saying in the 70's when I was a Dem. Furthermore, he's quite impressed with himself...puke. His record in congress, his associations, his religious and racial bigotry, are all part of the record. I hold out NO hope with this demagogue in power. Rush is likening him to the messiah, Jim Jones, and for me, that analogy fits perfectly. His constituency, the kool-aid drinking sheeple, worshiping at the alter of the creation rather than The Creator. Shallow, self-deceived, greedy, corrupt, and lookin' out for #1 is his constituency. This will be The Decade of Greed and Racism as we have not seen before.
