Making Lemonade Out of My Lemons

OK. Good news bad news. Maybe we can look at it from a glass half empty half full point of view. But in the end, I want to give you the REAL good news that perhaps might be less obvious to you. But first-

We live in a country where someone like Al Franken can become a Senator. But, we also live in a country where it is legal to bear arms. Hmmmm…

We live in a country where our President has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the “condemn Iran” table- and even then, he says he has to be even tempered because “we don’t know how this is going to turn out yet”. Great leadership, Barry. On the upside, he does travel abroad a lot. Get out your voodoo dolls.

We live in a country where our talking head Barry can claim that this cap and tax bill they are passing now is going to take us into the next century as a superpower in energy technology. Said Obama “This legislation will finally make clean energy a profitable energy.” What? Huh? Since when has anything the Government done become a profit center? NASA? Social Security? If he means subsidized into profitability like Airbus in France, sure… ok. On YOUR taxes. And during this energy speech Obama had the balls to use California as an example of a state doing it right- which was not wise because their liberal driven agendas have that state in near bankruptcy.

We live in a country where we can rush through stimulus bills, in the dead of the night, without reading them, because we simply must act with lightning speed. But, months later, only 5% or so has been spent. The good news? You are being educated in how spin works, if you are paying attention. Most people in this country care more about the death of Michael Jackson than they do about what is happening in the halls of congress. If we conservatives could find a way to eclipse the President as completely as Jackson eclipsed Farrah Fawcett’s death, I am sure we would all be doing a jig.

Regarding the stimulus, the Obama administration are holding their cards close to their vests by not spending the money quickly. How does that work? Well… like this: If the economy starts to falter more, they can claim that they have not begun the hard work and the spending has not trickled down. I speculate they are holding the money, hoping that in the near future, the economy starts on its way back up, at which point they can quickly infuse cash in and claim that it is the reason the strengthening is happening.

And next, they will be working on healthcare “reform”.

It bears repeating- Al Franken did become a Senator, but you still have 2nd amendment rights. For now.

So where is the damn silver lining, you ask?

Plain as day, right there in the general funds of the 50 states of this country.

All you have to do is look at the numbers from the ledger sheets of the states across this nation to see one really big ally us conservatives have against the Al Franken’s of the world, and their desire to spend a fortune in order to expand their voting base with government-tit programs such as universal health care. That ally?

An incredibly shaky economy with no real recovery on the horizon.

Numerous states across this nation are near bankruptcy. The worst offenders are those states which are the most driven by liberal agendas. I am not taking glee in this, but I have to say that it is one hell of an effective way of keeping an overzealous congress and President in check when it comes to introducing huge spending packages, or enormous energy taxes from “cap and trade”.

Put another way- if the economy were strong, and these crazy damn loons had their way (which they just about do), we conservatives would stand NO chance of stopping them from passing huge sweeping packages right down our throats- or up our a**es.

Will this stop them from trying? No, of course not. In fact, let me let you in on another tidbit of logic. No matter what happens with the economy, they will not take responsibility unless it booms. There is no scenario where, if things falter or struggle for years, that the left will ever take responsibility. As unemployment is projected to reach 10%, and we were promised the stimulus would stop it from climbing above 8%, the ‘Dims’ are already spinning that into something other than that which resembles the truth.

No- no matter what happens, if the economy does not recover as they promised with the stimulus, they will either blame the past, Bush, or the current “party of no” republicans, as they call them. And this is why they have a devil may care, damn the torpedoes attitude to ramming their legislation into any orifice of their choice- because the result does not matter, as long as they are growing their voter base with entitlement programs like government health care, ’shovel ready’ highway programs which will create union workers, etc… (Have you seen any of these ’shovel ready’ projects get going? I think perhaps the only thing ’shovel ready’ is the load of crap they rammed down the throats of Americans.)

But take solace in the fact that all politics are local, and that is the silver lining here. Most states have legislation that prevents them from doing something the federal government does, which is borrow money or run deficits to cover operating expenses. As a result of this, state legislators, governors and mayors are far more involved in analyzing national policy than they perhaps ever have been, because they know that whatever the federal government does, it will have some impact on their economies locally, in some cases,a huge impact, and often they are unforeseen. This is why some governors and mayors are rejecting stimulus monies.

As conservatives, with an idiot sweet talker in the White House and a congress that is more full of liberals than maggots in a deer carcass in August, the best buffer we have now to stem the wave of craziness is going to be a poor economy.

The risk in pointing out such an obvious reality is that the left will use it against us like we use their lack of full support of military missions against them. They will claim we are “hoping” the economy will fail. But, as I have pointed out several times on this blog, they and their dimwit talking head leader now have their hands so far up the ass of that puppet which is the economy that they will bear responsibility for the failures, whether they like it or not.

Even a nation of people distracted by the death of Michael Jackson will be capable of pulling their heads out of their holes long enough to see that this economy belongs to the Dems, now… Al Franken included.

    REPUBLICAN SNOTS –

It occurs to me that I’m writing this because of you snotty, rich, arrogant Republican posers. This Obamanation of a healthcare bill would not be in my face if you had done your jobs and actually worked for the American people.

Instead you bought farms and expensive suits, took European vacations, played footsie with floozies and patted yourselves on the back. You had every opportunity to show a clear and substantive difference in party values and actually do some good but you failed — failed — failed.

Now you have placed my very life under the thumb of a biased community organizer who seems intent on making us a socialist nation, and he couldn’t have done it without your help and the help of the dumbass called George Bush.

Both parties drove me to become an independent so I can say these things to you without prejudice. I am sick to death of my government, Democrats and Republicans alike. You fake it for constituents and market yourselves so you can stuff cash in your pockets. You have to be the worst of the worst.

How dare you bring me to the point of having this awful healthcare bill hanging over my head like a saber. Obama was right in one respect: You have wallowed in the swamp of “status quo” for long enough and now — only now do you wake up and scurry around like rabid squirrels. It took Obama to bite you in the ass and make you move.

You Republicans disgust me one and all. Democrats can’t help being weak-minded, easily indoctrinated idol worshippers but you know better.

  2. S. Nicholson says:

    HEALTH CARE ENIGMA –

What is behind the health care reform bill? Comments grow.

    1) It’s about reparations for blacks
    2) It’s about political payback for Hispanics
    3) It’s about Democratic ideology
    4) It’s about Republican red-neck racists
    5) It’s about an Obama power grab for more control
    6) It’s an Emergency/Crisis/Catastrophe
    7) It’s a way to “break” Obama’s presidency
    8) It’s the beginning of a North American Union

No wonder politicians were afraid to address it. It seems to be about anything and everything but actual healthcare.

Healthcare reform is definitely political in a time when all races seem to be racially hypersensitive. It’s the pink elephant standing in the middle of the country and daring anyone to move it. It’s economically huge amounting to one-sixth of our economy.

Despite all the contentious stances and Obama’s “Yakety-Yak” speeches there are a few things I know.

    A) I do not want government to have anything to do with my healthcare.
    B) I do not want government to further control my life.
    C) Higher taxes are inevitable.
    D) I do not want to “officially and legally” make the care of illegal aliens and non-citizens my fiscal responsibility.
    E) My government is begining to frighten me.
    F) I do not want to be forced into socialist policies.
    G) I do not want government making choices for me.
    H) I do not want human beings rated as to the healthcare they deserve in a rationed system.
    I) I do not want healthy young people forced to pay into the system if they don’t want to.
    J) I do not want to be herded like a sheep.
    K) The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) says it will cost more and expand the deficit.

There are ways to reduce health care costs and improve efficiency but first President Obama needs to take the time to listen instead of forcing us into a partisan-drawn system of mandated government control.

Government mandated health care is the ANTITHESIS of everything I was taught about America and my freedoms.

  3. S. Nicholson says:

    IT’S HEALTHCARE WAR!

I couldn’t sleep so I channel surfed and ended up on the Rachel Maddow channel, the place for militant Democrats. This is the channel for slams, slurs and derisions against all Republicans but it has broadened its scope and is now against anyone who doesn’t agree with everything blessed by Obama.

Maybe it was because I was tired but the people talking seemed unusually vicious. They agreed Obama had rallied them to defend the healthcare bill and it was war.

They declared their opposition ideologues and to them the healthcare bill was about ideology and they must win. I was confused. I thought the bill was about soaring costs, added debt, taxing, bad care, long waits, rationing of care, bureaucratic meddling and government control.

Wow! It was about ideology, a bigger calling, something to rally for, a war of ideas and ideals for these particular Democrats. I had no idea and their gung-ho demeanor and words seemed nastier than usual, really combative.

Not once did they argue a single point of healthcare, mention a fact, or produce a number. They didn’t have to. Healthcare was not about healthcare but something much larger and more valuable, their ideology — but what was their ideology? They seemed to be leaning toward socialism and government control. Was that their ideology?

I oppose the bill because, for one thing, I don’t want the government to manage anything, especially my healthcare. Did I have an ideology, some way of thinking that put me in a particular class or sphere of thinking? I’m an independent now, unable to stomach the candidates our system produced for me to vote for, i.e. Obama and McCain. I still hold some liberal leanings but for the most part I’m conservative.

Now I’m going to have to go back and examine my thinking and figure out what those guys were talking about. Silly me. I thought we were talking about a healthcare bill.

  4. S. Nicholson says:

    DIE BOOMERS DIE

Baby boomers, those born during the post World War II period, need to crawl into a hole and die quietly without costing anyone a dime. You see, you’re just too costly in a time when everyone has a hand out and — guess what — your government squandered the money that was supposed to take care of you.

Yep — blame the baby boomers for everything, for just existing. Maybe, under the guise of compassion for all our new immigrants and illegal immigrants you can just get those boomers to line up and volunteer to be shot. That would solve some of our money problems, wouldn’t it? Maybe we’ll be lucky and the next round of swine flu will get them.

I have to confess to being one of those hapless boomers, now the scourge of the nation. Newly naturalized Hispanics hate us because their babies need the care we’re entitled to. Our government hates us because we’ve grown old and need the care we paid to get from Social Security.

I remember saying good-bye to a teacher when I graduated from high school in ‘62. “Are you going to miss us?” I teased. She smiled and said, “Things are going to get easier when all you war babies are gone.”
The very next year our city had its first race riot at my old high school. I often wondered what she would have to say about that.

Don’t use the words “baby boomer” around me because you’ll get an earfull. Don’t blame the boomers for money our government wasted and spent and failed to save. Don’t you dare say we’re a burden on government or don’t have a right to exist. Don’t deride and dismiss “old white people” or old Americans in general.

I worked, raised a family, never committed a crime and always paid my taxes to make it possible for immigrants and illegal aliens, most poor, to come here and live off the entitlements and welfare that should have gone to AMERICANS ONLY.

And then my government went broke because of “man made” error. God didn’t do it — you politicians did it! Don’t you dare say another word about “baby boomers.” The money should be there for us, but it’s not and let every president since Eisenhower apologize for the mismanagement of this government.

Let every senator and representative take credit for gluing himself to his chair and turning a blind eye to the needs of the people. The ones who sat in thier safe, well-paying jobs for any length of time, like Edward Kennedy, should be throttled.

It’s not the old baby boomers who should be blamed but the OLD POLITICIANS who year after year rubber stamped coercion, theft, dirty politics and political machines that allowed American government to become a scam upon the American people.

Do I want government-controlled health care? You can bet I don’t. The week after my grandmother was eligible for Medicare the cost of a doctor’s visit went up and everything mushroomed from there. After all, the government was paying and no one feels bad about cheating the government. At that point all the government had to do was say no, but they didn’t. They just kept paying and paying.

American politicians allowed the government to keep paying and that’s how we got to this point in the first place. DON’T BLAME BABY BOOMERS — BLAME THE GOVERNMENT.

  5. S. Nicholson says:

Roland Burris of “Blago” infamy just announced he will not run in 2010. His parting sentiments were good; his past actions were bad. He should not sit in our senate.

  6. S. Nicholson says:

Help! Will someone tell this megalomaniac of a President that we’re broke. He doesn’t seem to understand. Now the G8 will cut carbon emissions by 80% but not China, Brazil and India. Some are calling it a suicide pact. Our economy will suffer and more jobs will be lost but this chosen and exalted man we call president cannot be stopped.

He must do something ig to match his ig ego and health care reform looks like it will be a tax on the rich and then trickle down to we middle class subservients when the rich are tapped out.

NAFTA/SPP couldn’t bring Mexico’s economy up to ours, and we’ve been pumping a lot of money into Mexico, so they’re going to bring our economy down to meet Mexico’s. What a deal!

I’ve worked all my life to become equal to Mexico so we can become a North American Union, not unlike the EU model, and fit into the world niche they’ve carved out for our country. Bush and Obama have done a great job of selling us off.

Obama’s healthcare will put all illegal aliens officially on our books and service those poor and newly arrived while our border stays open. We’ve been paying anyway so why not make it official. The noose keep tightening. Once we officially claim them and take responsibility for their care, where does it stop?

  7. S. Nicholson says:

    CORRECTION –

I asked “how much longer we would be a sovereign nation,” but that was stupid. We haven’t been a sovereign nation, making decisions just for Americans, since that damned NAFTA bill was signed.

Our NAFTA failure of a bill, which was supposed to make Canada, the U.S. and Mexico thrive, FAILED MISERABLY, but not for Mexicans. Mexicans still get to come here. Mexicans still get to live off our social service programs. Mexicans can walk into any E.R. and get FREE CARE, but not we stupid Americans. We have to pay and keep paying. Mexicans get to grow pot in our state parks, march down our streets when they feel mistreated, take monies which should go to Americans and, in general, live off our country and our people.

Just what in the hell was in the SPP’s? Whose “Security and Prosperity” were they addressing? It certainly wasn’t ours. I say Mexicans because over 50% of our ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE MEXICANS.

They don’t say thank you for letting me in. They say gimme, gimme, gimme and I want more. LULAC, MALDEF and La Raza defend them in America. My U.S. government holds the door open and Mexico shoves Mexicans in.

Why is this allowed if not for the purpose of the eventual North American Union our global elite want? Why are U.S. citizens FORCED to pay for them at the city, state and county levels? Look at California for heaven’s sake!

Does anyone remember English lessons for the Irish, the Italian or the German immigrants who came in? Did they get welfare or free hospital care? No. No. No.

I am personally sick of the special treatment our illegal aliens get. I don’t want more disease coming from Mexico like the swine flu because Mexico has packed cities and lax sanitary conditions plus the inability to detect contagion fast enough.

And as I look at Sotomayor I know I don’t want her on my Supreme Court. We don’t need “wise Latinas” but we do need wise Americans. Sotomayor forgets or never knew what America is about. Her bias for her race or all Hispanic races is evident and pronounced.

She is Obama’s gift to Hispanics for their continued support and votes. She is a bribe. She is all about race and Obama uses race and identity politics to ensure he will stay in power to continue policies WE CAN’T AFFORD.

We’re broke, Mr. Obama, so it would be smart to stop spending our money and start cleaning up government. We are sick of a government that listens to every fringe group but ignores the majority of Americans who actually pay the taxes.

Mr. President, I send you greetings and a big Michael Jackson crotch grab to remind you I’m angry.

  8. S. Nicholson says:

One good move by Biden, by stating the Obama Regime “underestimated” how bad off the economy was is tantamount to taking responsibility for our economy.
Bad move Biden just keeps putting his foot in his mouth.

Obama’s cure for the economy seems to be spend, spend, spend; tax, tax, tax. Expedite spending and taxing while you still have the approval of the zombies who voted for you. Get the bill passed before they have a chance to read it. Intimate the country will fall into the ocean if your demands are not met.

Where are those “shovel ready” jobs? Do you hear anyone shoveling, I don’t? Jobs saved and created? What kind of “creative math” are you using to prove that one?

You said we’re “not a Christian nation.” Tell me what kind of American history books you got that misstatement from. Have you read the dollar bill? It says “In God We Trust.” It doesn’t say in Allah we trust or in Buddha we trust. Maybe if you talked to God a little more and to your liberal sychophants a little less this country would be doing better.

I’m a little like the people of Iran. I don’t trust my voting system. I wonder how many illegals are voting or who is voting twice WHILE I FOLLOW THE RULES.

I’m getting a little tired of following the rules while special interest groups bulldoze over me and drown out my voice. I wonder why you don’t start the “change” at the top instead of trying to tax me to death.

Yes, Mr. Obama, start at the top with your regime and our Congress. Start, more specifically, with Social Security. Send out investigators so we don’t keeping sending checks to dead people. Is that a 40 million or 40 billion savings issue? I don’t remember anymore. Your millions and billions and trillions of spending have me overwhelmed.

I have a whole laundry list of “changes” you need to make and most of them are linked to government programs and government offices. CLEAN YOUR OWN HOUSE, MR. OBAMA, BEFORE YOU TAP ME FOR MORE MONEY.

I read that the “elite” have decided America is to fill the technology/services/innovation niche for our global masters. I guess “green technology” would fit the mold you are trying to press us into.

Do you think anymore of what is best for America or are you thinking what is best for the world? Just how much longer will my country exist as a sovereign nation?

  9. Good thing I like lemonade.

  10. S. Nicholson says:

Bravo! Foot stomping! More applause! I have a few observations but no time. It was right on point!
