It ain’t the Gestapo you have to worry about…
The legislators from the left of the Democrat Party would like you to think that they have your security in mind. They want you to know, that, when it comes to protecting your information, who you are, what you do, and the records that follow you, that they are on your side, watching your back. How we know this is they ride Bush’s hind side day in and day out when it comes to phone records. But, really, what do phone records have to do with protecting your actual security?
Truth is, the real raping of the US citizen is happening daily, at an alarming rate. And, it has nothing to do with phone records or phone conversations.
The theft of personal information in 2007 reached record levels. And NONE of the information we are talking about is “taken” from you by the US Governement. It is taken from you by common criminals. And, in fact, the information they take from you is far more dangerous and damaging to your life and livelihood the information that an errant wiretap might cause.
That is, as long as you are not a criminal in the first place.
The left has long fostered the mindset that any attempt to control dangerous people with monitoring by the Government is some form of fascism. But then again, we find the left often defending those who are dangerous, outside the law, or even fascist in their own ways.
(Ed: Can you say “Unions”? Just to name ONE element that fits that bill…)
I find it incredible that the left will put energy into making political points at the expense of this Country’s security, but do little to actually affect the true safety of citizens when it comes to the real threats we face. From a party that claims to hold personal informational freedom so highly, I am not seeing Bill after Bill from them concerning the protection of the common citizen from identity theft, or Bills creating incredibly high sentencing for those who are contributing to the stealing of the average Joe’s life.
According to the San Diego based Identity Theft Resource Center, well over 79 million personal records were compromised in 2007. How many cases of “abuse” of personal information have been charged against the Bush administration in that same period? And, how many bills have been brought by the Democrat (read: “liberal”, now that Soros owns them) Congress to charge and prosecute these criminals who steal your identity and rape your checkbooks, and livelihood?
Wow. The left really IS concerned about the security of personal information of the average US citizen. They would rather try to impress upon you that the Bush Administration is working towards being the “Gestapo” of the US than try to attack with meaningful legislation the real threats you and I face each day when it comes to data theft.
When it comes to your security, in the new world of data flowing all over the place, I don’t think that your real enemy is the Bush administration and phone tapping. I think your bigger concern is your other information, and a Democrat led Congress that seems to think that protection of your information stops at the White House.
