Fox up, CNN down

Fox up, CNN down

Bad news for the liberals and the liberal dominated media. Fox is climbing, still, and has now surpassed CNN as the “Most Trusted” in news.

In a national poll conducted by Sacred Heart University, the most trusted news agencies relating to accurate reporting are:

  1. Fox, 27%
  2. CNN, 14.6%
  3. NBC, 10.9%
  4. ABC, 7%
  5. Local News, 6.9%
  6. CBS, 6.8%
  7. MSNBC, 4% (Hey, that is Ron Paul’s favorite percentage!!)
  8. PBS, 3%

This is a major changed from 2003, when CNN led Fox 23.8%-14.6%.

The report also cites concerns from the public that the major news media attempts to deliberately sway public bias. In 2003, 79.3% strongly or somewhat agreed, and in 2007 that jumped to 87.6%.

Additionally, 41.9% found the New York Times to be liberal; and NPR came in at 40.3% (liberal). 45.4% of Americans see broadcasters as liberal. 44.9% of responders found CNN to be mostly liberal, and MSNBC came in at 38.8.

Fox News came in mostly/somewhat conservative at 48.7%

When you look at cable news data, it is clear that Fox is still not just on top, but dominant. Based on viewership, Fox daily outdoes their competitors by factors (no pun intended) of 30-50%.

All of this just has to iritate the liberals to no end. I hear from time to time crazy whackjob ideas like the Ron Paul campaign implemented recently, trying to boycott Fox for excluding Paul from the roundtable discussion in New Hampshire. Whether or not they had any measurable effect is impossible to tell, but it is also moot. I am quite sure that Murdoch and the board collectively yawned.

Nevertheless, it appears that the perceptions of the public and the trustworthiness of Fox survives in spite of any angry-fit-throwing group out there, liberal or otherwise.

Face it, the left loves to hate Fox. And it is no wonder why. A conversation that I have actually had with people serves as not only the best example of why they hate Fox, but what you can do when you run into one of these swooning loons.

Invariably the discussion starts out with “Oh- you like Fox news huh?” That is followed by “They do nothing but lie.” The correct response is, “Really? Can you illustrate that for me with some examples of lies?” Of course, they can’t, and then they follow with, “Well, you know what I mean. There are a lot of ways to report the news, and they twist it to serve their purposes and those of the conservatives.” Again, the correct response is “Oh- I see. You claim they lie, but when your gross partisan overgeneralization is challenged, you change your story insisting they report things like differing viewpoints, other perspectives, and the untold parts of the story, including facts, that other networks leave out. In other words, they don’t suit your agenda.”

Yeah- it’s a mouthful. But memorize it. If you are a Fox watcher, you will need it.

And you can add to that the new poll data about them overtaking CNN as most trusted. That ought to make you popular!

  1. Talking about liberal bias, on the msn.com website, in bigger letters it announces a Hillary win in the Nevada primary along with her picture, in in smaller letters it anounces Romney’s victory for the Republicans

  2. That’s just hilarious. Ask anyone in legitimate media, that is ANY source other than Fox news and professional opinion indicates that Fox is not even a legitimate news source at all, but laughed at as a humorous source of entertainment by the duller populace of this country.

  3. I often hear liberals talk about the “lies” from Fox News.

To go on another tangent, I’ve listened to a bit of Air America at times, mainly for laughs, and I hear how they feel as if the mainstream media isn’t liberal enough.
