Exporting Abortion Aid- Increasing Vacuum Cleaner Stock

Well, it has been a week of some amazing news. Some very noteworthy, some weird, some fantastical, some downright scary. However, what has happened this week has been nothing short of the beginning of some changes which are diametrically opposed to the conservative movement. Many of them, I have mentioned on this blog. There is one more stuck in my craw.

On Friday, President Obama once again took his pen and turned the Country’s policy on a very sensitive and divisive issue 180 degrees to the rear, by striking down a ban on US aid to international groups that provide abortion services around the world. This opens the door, once again, for the US and agencies therein to flood moneys out to foreign countries, which then in turn is used primarily to promote abortion availability.

And with that stroke, Mr. Brilliant said:

“For too long, international family planning assistance has been used as a political wedge issue, the subject of a back-and-forth debate that has served only to divide us,” Obama said in a statement announcing his action. “It is time that we end the politicization of this issue.”

Considering this ban has been in place since Reagan put it there, and then repealed by Clinton, then replaced by Bush 43, making that statement right after changing it back this is akin to saying “We’ve gained the lead, and we’re calling the game!” Sounds like a liberal, no? (See my posts on their childish tendencies.)

Obtuse, sophomoric logic aside- no Mr. President. This will NOT end the partisan divisiveness of this issue, and your Rodney King-like “Can’t we all just get along” stance is falling on deaf ears.

Supporters of Obama claim that his decision to take this action on Friday, which was one day AFTER the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision, was an attempt at and example of such an olive branch, “let’s stop playing politics with this issue” move. However, I decline to agree. I personally feel it was an attempt to slide in under the radar, on a Friday, drawing as little attention to his actions as possible in order to “play politics” with the MSM news cycles, and the American public’s ability to “pay attention” when the weekend is upon them.

Regarding the decision by Obama, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) of course had to open her mouth and spew forth some brilliant, clearly cross analyzed drivel… ”Women throughout the world can breathe a sigh of relief and gain access to a full range of family planning services.”

Wow- I didn’t realize “Family Planning Services” included sucking the baby out, or perhaps caving in the cranium. “Family Planning”, I’ll have to remember that. I suppose Ted Bundy was “Wedding Planning”, Dahmer was doing some “Boy Scout Troop Planning”, and Kascinki was doing some “Reunion Planning”.

God, she’s a brilliant woman. And these people worry about waterboarding… Perhaps we should let her and Senator Byrd get together and do some Nobel work for us. Between the two of them, I could out-bowl their collective IQ, and I am a reeeeeally crappy bowler.

It is rumored that vacuum cleaner manufacturing stock went up slightly across the board on the news of Obama’s gracious work, and international sales were expected to rise…

    “when there’s a functioning brain…”

Hmmm- rules out a ton of folks on the left, doesn’t it?

The bible says nothing about life beginning when sperm fertilizes egg. The bible also says nothing about when it’s okay to pull feeding tubes from a hospital patient. Who *is* qualified to make these decisions? Each state puts into law what “life” means, and the largest consensus is that “life” requires protection only when there’s a functioning brain.

Mostly I am with you Robert, to some degree. I just get sickened that the left sweeps the reality of what one of the two choices IS under the “radar-carpet”.

  4. Robert says:

Abortion is a subject I have struggled with for many years. I know it is easier to struggle with this subject because of course I’ll never need to get an abortion. Because of my faith I have an anti-abortion bias. On the same token, I don’t believe “Big Government” should be making the decision on whether a woman gets an abortion or not. The decision to get an abortion needs between a woman, a spouse, a doctor and a higher power (not the government). Many anti-choice zealots are also anti-government zealots. Funny, they don’t want government involved in issues like national health care for instance but they don’t mind a heavy handed federal government taking over the abortion issue.

I never met anyone who is truly “pro-abortion”; I don’t believe they exist in mass. It is time for common ground on the choice debate. Let’s work together to reduce unwanted pregnancies and everyone wins.

@COasis Yes & this along with his commitment to FOCA was announced at the same time of RTL March on the very same lawn where days before he was sworn in (sorta). Classy. He could have at least waited a few days.

But I guess not. He wanted to make a statement. He’s made it.

  6. Les4Rangers says:

What can we expect from a (christian) man who says he isn’t qualified to answer when human life begins and that he would abort his own grandchild to keep from punishing his daughter with a baby if she should violate his parenting advise and become pregnant before she planned to?

I wonder what christ and what bible he is following. I can’t find any of that in my Bible. Maybe it’s somewhere in Revelation during the Great Tribulation perion. Hmmm…

Do you really think it was an under the radar move, or an “in your face” move? I thought the timing was very strategic “In-your-face. We’ve got the ball–we define the rules.” Probably with the Rahm Emanuel five-finger salute…

  8. Janet says:

”Women throughout the world can breathe a sigh of relief…”
Ya. . . ‘cept of course any of the young unborn ones.
    What a MAROON.

  9. Great comment–the ones worried about aggressive interrogation of those who have killed tens to thousands are not worried about the killing of thousands to millions of unborn babies? The liberal priorities are so wrong it is beyond description.

  10. John P. says:

Obama’s axis of evil is foreign unborn kids (racist), our allies in South America (Colombia) and anyone that didn’t vote for him.
