“Let’s Talk Issues… Except that one…”

Well, here it comes… the “Let’s talk issues” deflection.

With all of the heat that Clinton and Obama are taking for basically lying, the Dems on the left are beginning to chant the mantra “Why don’t we talk about issues? Let’s talk about healthcare, the war, the economy, blah blah blah…”

Newsflash for all of you liberals… to adults with morals and principles (i.e., conservatives, most moderates, and some democrats), character IS an issue- perhaps the most important one of all, as it is an indicator as to how you will lead, and what you are willing (or not willing) to do in the face of adversity.

So when we hear conservatives bring up over and over the most recent lies of Obama and Clinton, I can understand why liberals hate this- it targets and puts a microscope on an area the are not strong in- character. But this scrutiny is not a piling-on by conservatives; rather it is our way of vetting out the character of a person.

I would venture to say that this issue, character, matters to others as well. In the most recent polls, both Obama and Hillary are showing signs of being damaged by their comments when it comes to matters of honor, trustworthiness, and character. So much so that when you contrast it with McCain’s 67% “trust” from the public, it is becoming increasingly clear that Obama and Clinton’s comments are perhaps going to contribute to their undoing, and possibly cost them the White House.

Deciphering the Math

The latest polls, while some show variances, are indicating that Obama vs. McCain and Hillary vs. McCain are very close. In most cases, the recent credibility gaffes of Obama and Clinton are showing up in the polls, indicated by either McCain closing the gap (almost completely) in polls he was trailing in, OR, taking the outright lead by a slim to moderate margin, depending on the poll you look at.

What you might be missing though, since the press does not report it or analyze it, is the following:
Depending on the source, 22-28% of Obama’s supporters will defect to McCain if Hillary wins. If Obama wins, the same result occurs, with slightly differing percentages.

This means McCain, who is holding tight in a race that Dems should be winning handily when one considers the war, gas prices, the economy, etc… is actually UP over both of his foes by a WIDE margin. Even if you cut in half the defection percentage, you still have about 10-15% of voters that McCain will pick up, regardless of who wins in the Democrat primary.

These are not small numbers, and if they play out, McCain will win in a landslide.

But of course the press won’t point that out to you, as it would likely help McCain…

Clinton the Target of Criticism for Lying About Being a “Target”

In an effort to make her more important than she will ever be, Hillary Clinton reached way back into the 2nd grade playbook this week, claiming that she had to rush to a vehicle when she landed in Bosnia, in order to avoid sniper fire. Unfortunately for Clinton, much like so many other parts of her life, other people were there too, and they don’t quite see it the same way. Even CBS lambasted Clinton, and came about as close to calling her a liar as one will ever see CBS call a Democrat.

Clinton of course has made other “gross overstatements” (lies) in order to boost her image. As an example, she stated she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the first to climb Everest, even though Hillary (the climber) did not summit Everest until some 5 months after Clinton was born.

I have a feeling, considering the way this woman lives her life, that she feels like she is ducking all of the time.

And the Hate Keeps Coming…

The latest targets of Jeremiah Wright’s bigotry are the Italians. No matter how hard Wright and Obama try to keep him out of sight and out of mind, Wright just keeps the hits a comin’, with his latest hit “Garlic Nosed Italians”. (Yes, he called Italians “garlic nosed” in- are you ready for this??? A eulogy…)

Keep your hat on though. It is rumored Wright is working on a whole new collection of bigoted remarks for his soon to be released CD “Archie Bunker ain’t got SHIT on ME!”

Agents of the Enemy

Good old Jim McDerrrrrrr-mutt, another one of those liberal gifts that keeps on giving. Reports are surfacing that Jim McDermott, David Bonior and Mike Thompson, all of whom are Democrat Representatives, were the unknowing(?) operatives of the Iraqi intelligence when they accepted a junket that was paid for in full by Saddam and his intelligence agency.

Of course, the idiots will claim that they had no idea who was paying for this, but as one wise politician stated, you always make sure you know who is funding your trips, especially when going into controversial areas politically, or geographically.
