Obama Tries on His Presidential Clothing

It is amateur night in the Democrat Party. As I have pointed out already, many on the left think the battle between Obama and Clinton shows strength. The two of them are neck and neck because they are such solid candidates… or so the left would have you believe.

As I have stated before, an even and hotly contested race does not mean anything other than you have to people who cannot simply create any distance between themselves. This inability to “win” decisively in some cases does include greatness on both sides.

I would suggest that the reason for this closeness in the current race between Obama and Clinton has more to do with mediocrity of candidates and a frothing idiot laden “hate Bush” left who would vote for anything that had a “D” on it than it does with anything resembling quality and experience. Neither Obama NOR Clinton possess either.

However, presumably we have a candidate now. Obama. And his first foray into being a big boy man is trying top take on McCain (by stupidly using Bush as a proxy) on foreign policy. I think this sophomore even used the “anytime, anywhere” stud remark of the testosterone driven WWF to make his point. Wow. What a man.

The most current dust up is over a statement President Bush made while abroad. Said the President, “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along…” Bush followed this with the comment that this gives the “false comfort of appeasement”, likely recalling the gaffes of diplomats in the past who believed that talking to eager murderers is going to make them stop traveling down the road they are on.

This set off the left, and the Obama camp criticized the President for the “politicization” of this issue.

Are these idiots on the left serious? The President of the United States is THE creator of our foreign policy. Since he was ELECTED to SET foreign policy, I think it is his RIGHT to talk about the US position abroad.

It is amazing to me that the left are so deficit in logic that they think that they can use the same arguments about the President that can be used about others, such as Pelosi, McDermott, and Carter. While traveling abroad, those geniuses crossed lines ’speaking’ for the US. But their is one serious distinction between them and the President, and that is the title “President”.

And since when is the war on terror NOT a political issue? Trust me, this issue WILL be thrust upon the inexperienced wuss Barack, over and over in the general, should his party not rip the nomination from him. But that is a different issue.

On foreign policy, Barack Obama is anything but “Wright”… anything but experienced… and anything but prepared.

The left has their hands full with a McCain/Obama general election, as Obama is going to take a bath on foreign policy and experience. This is partly because the left’s response to “Why is Obama qualified to be President?” is followed by the response “Because things suck!” and “Who wants 4 more years of Bush?”

In fact, get used to the idiotic mantra that will feed the mindless on the left… you are going to hear Bush/McCain over and over in the same sentence for the next several months. This will keep the left frothing, but I doubt it will do much to sway the center, where this election lies. The people in the middle “think” a lot more than the far left does.

Contrasting McCain’s record of over 20 years in the Senate, Vietnam pilot and prisoner of war supporting his understanding of the seriousness of international conflict and the burden on troops, and a myriad of other factors; against Obama’s ability to give a dour speech with Pastor like seriousness, look good, and spew platitudes… well, I, for one, can’t wait.

Sen. Edward Kennedy

I don’t really want to make jokes here. I love a good laugh at the expense of anyone on the left when I can get one.

I will only say with all seriousness that I consider Ted Kennedy loathsome. I think he is a criminal who killed a lady by driving off a bridge drunk and then didn’t report it for some 12 hours later, then went on to get off because he was a Kennedy. Politically, I think he is a thorn in the side of the right, but also, sometimes, an amazing reach across the aisle kind of guy.

That all being said, I don’t wish him ill, and I hope someday he can be forgiven. Might be soon that he needs that.

  1. What I’m noticing is that Hillary is having better luck in the traditionally red states than Obama. That being said, to improve the chances of the red states staying red in the November election, I’d rather see McCain run against Obama than Hillary. The blue states will stay blue states no matter who gets the Democratic nomination, but I don’t Obama winning states such as Kentucky, Ohio or Indiana.

  2. Note on Senator Kennedy: I’m not and never will be in his fan club, but I don’t wish him ill either. I wish him and his family the best as he confronts this affliction.

He may have been loathesome, but I cannot say that I dislike him, just as I cannot say that I dislike Barrack Obama - although I don’t like the Clintons at all (I’m not including Chelsea - yet). He’s had to work with those on both sides of the political aisle, and he has been difficult with Republicans. But he has also fought for what he thinks is right, even though I may not agree.

I just want to vent some steam on who I think is the most despicable liberal today, and that is MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann. His style of being arrogant and pompous with his sermon-style hate-filled rants on the Bush Administration is why I loathe him, not so much WHAT he has to say. I would say that this worthless piece of trash is dangerous, but on the other hand, many people, even “mainstream liberals” - liberals who are liberal for reasons where conservative views may be lacking as opposed to the far left who are simply rebels - cannot actually take him seriously. So maybe the more exposure this guy gets, the more and more people will see that he is just a nutcase.
