Obama’s Achilles Heel Speaks Again

Let’s just be clear.

Every time Jeremiah Wright speaks, Obama loses something. Pundits right now will try to claim left and right that Obama has lost nothing due to Wright, but I will suggest, once again, that the “loss” of undecided voters NEVER shows up in polls accurately.

When you think to yourself that maybe, just maybe, this radical ‘religious guide’ of Obama’s has gotten the point that he needs to ‘go away’ in order for Obama to recover, Wright surfaces yet again.

His latest “surfacing” will be on Sunday, with Bill Moyers on PBS, the most incisive and penetrating political interviewer since Larry King. I hope that Wright can survive the heat of the kitchen with this “Bill”. (That is sarcasm, if you can’t recognize it.)

Having myself seen some of the interview which will air Sunday on PBS, I have to say that I am disappointed with the intellect of anyone who will ‘buy’ the story told by Wright.

First off, Wright claims to have been taken “out of context”. This “context” claim is often the claim of the idiots of the world, the intellectually weak, and quite often, the loser of the argument. Sharpton and his ilk use such comments quite often.

But even more important, the people in the voting public who will nod and say “yeah, I can see where you are taken out of context” concerns me more. Anyone who thinks that ANY context could justify some of Wright’s comments is not adequately armed to be a discerning voter.

In fact, there should be some kind of test you have to take, to be a voter, AND a parent… but we can deal with the Parent Qualification test later.

At any rate, I would like to propose a logical argument here:

Obama has “repudiated” Wright’s “comments”, but not the “man”. Wright claims, in his interview with Moyer, that he was not ‘understood’, and that his comments were taken out of context.

IF that is so, why the hell is Obama repudiating the comments? If Wright is ‘right’, I have no clue why Obama would have said he does not find himself in agreement with the statements. I mean, the way Wright puts it with Moyers is that he is stating the obvious, something we all would, could, or should accept.

In the interview, Moyer goes on to ask if Obama himself ever stated any of Wright’s sentiments. This is, in fact, an attempt by Moyer to “cleanse” Obama from being tied to Wright. But again, we find ourselves dealing with the intellectually inept.

IF, in fact, it is even important to hear Wright say that Obama never said anything like Wright has said over the years, I would argue that a more important observation is made unintentionally when Wright goes out of his way to say Obama NEVER said anything that Wright said.

Again, we are dealing with the fact that Wright says, in response to Moyers, that he has never heard Obama state anything along the same lines that Wright has over the years. And, we are now dealing again with a duplicity that is mind bending.

Why would anyone need to emphatically state that Obama never said anything like Wright has said over the years when Wright himself claims that he has never said anything that was offensive, un-American, racist, etc…?

If you are claiming you are taken out of context, and never said anything that was worth criticism, then why would one need to claim that Obama never said anything like it?

And again, in this devilish circle of logic… why would Obama need to come out and repudiate some comments and sentiments by Wright when in fact Wright claims his “incorrectness” was due to people just taking soundbites (some more than 1 minute long- big BITE I suggest) and taking him out of context.

The real problem here is, honestly, that a very large part of our nation cannot see this conundrum- either due to ignorance, or partisanship, or both.

Put another way- if character matters to you, you see a problem here. If character does not matter, you punch the chad and hope to go on your happy way with your idiot candidate winning.

Just a final observation..

Wright made a comment in the interview with Moyer that he has to address his people in a manner that is pastoral, and that Obama has to address his people in a manner that is political.

Amazing.

After seeing both of them speak, I personally find it hard to determine which one is which. Who is the pastor, who is the politician?

And I think that is what Obama’s problem IS with Wright…

Because we don’t KNOW you, we can’t be sure you and he are not interchangeable.
