Supreme Court Rules on 2nd Amendment

(You may now CLING without fear)

Todays MOMENTOUS ruling in the SCOTUS marks not only an unprecedented milestone in this Nation’s history regarding an individual’s right to bear arms, but also highlights in the strongest manner why the Presidency matters.

The slim 5-4 ruling (conservatives plus swing Justice Kennedy) showed the importance of SCOTUS nominations by the President. Without either Roberts or Alito, you could have seen today a first step down another Roe vs. Wade type of path. Instead, freedom loving flag waving American’s won.

In light of this ruling, the NRA is immediately considering filing numerous contests in many cities across the nation. San Francisco and Chicago will be first. Chicago. Obama’s homies.

It is also important to note that Obama’s name was ABSENT in a friend of the court’s brief (amicus) that was sent to the SCOTUS supporting the lower courts overturning of the 32 year old law (of the District of Columbia). On that amicus brief’s list of supporting Senator’s? Republican nominee Senator John McCain.

Said Obama after hearing of the ruling, “Damn! I woulda never thunk it possible that those rednecks wooda had da RIGHT ta CLING ta those firearms! Heck! Now I is gonna haf ta just focus on attacking their religion!”

He’s working on it, folks… more on that soon..

In the meantime, consider opening a handgun shop in San Fran or Chi-town.

I am off to hug my 9mm…

What’s more important? Troops, or plumbing?

What's more important? Troops, or plumbing?

I have been working lately on promoting this site. In the course of doing so, I have come across some people that made me remember something… and that is, “we always forget to remember.”

The people I am talking about are troops, and their wives, and husbands, and kids. Mothers, Fathers, Uncles, Aunts, and on down the line.

So much I want to say, and so little space to say it. But, I will try to do it justice.

Right now the silence is deafening. Iraq and the news about our troops seems to not even exist, compared to what it has been, over the last few years. And I don’t think that the reasons WHY it is quiet make me very happy.

It is quiet because we have no CRAP for the media to peddle.

We have no GITMO news. We have no Fallujah news. We have no Abu Ghraib. We have no more stories about rape or shooting innocent people.

So- I guess… we just don’t have news about Iraq. At least, it appears that way…

Let me jump around a bit, to make a point.

Conditional Support, Conditional Americans

Conditional Support, Conditional Americans

Since the inception of the “new” Congress- since the trustworthy Democrats have taken over, and even long before that, we have heard “We support the troops”… followed by many actions that show they do NOT support the troops. You would think these folks would have enough sense to understand that actions speak louder than words.

On a tangential but relevant point which I will tie in later, I remember seeing a series of commercials in the last couple of years, where “Americans” of many different dissent stated “I- am American!”. Over and over, some new face, that was of another nationality than the forbidden white male, stated “I- am American”…

And- follow me here- since the beginning of the ’second’ Gulf War, we have a congress full of Democrats now, who still remember the stings of the wounds that were left from treating US Soldiers like fecal matter after the Vietnam war— these folks are insisting that they “Support the Troops!”

Well, how could these two possibly be tied together?

Right now, we have a couple of different ideological battles being waged. One at home (immigration), and one abroad (the war on terror). And tied to both of these battles are ideological components which politicians are eager to take advantage of, even if they DON’T really mean what they are saying.

Concerning the troop support, as I said before, most liberals are still stinging from the disrespect they gave our troops after Vietnam. Therefore, they have learned that for political expediency, one must say over and over “We support the troops”, even if just a facade.

However, appropriations bill after bill comes to the floor, and the Democratic leadership (i.e., Soros employees) try again and again to tie something “special” to the “support”. Pork, earmarks, special social program funding, or dates of withdrawal.

This is NOT support… it is “a deal” being offered… it is CONDITIONAL support?

Now how do the “I am American” commericals tie in?

When I first saw those commercials, I thought “yeah, we are a pretty cool country, full of all kinds of people”. But then, after a short bit of time, I realized that the people who are giving us trouble (i.e., current immigration problems) are NOT Americans. But we will get to that in a minute.

Simply obtaining citizenship does not make you “American”, in my opinion. Being “American” has a lot more to do than obtaining a simple document. Being American means abiding by laws; paying taxes; voting; staying informed and educated (the best you can); standing up and speaking for or against what you feel strongly about (within the law); and assimilating into our society, rather than dictating we need to assimilate to YOU.

Back to the illegals that are here now, clearly if you broke laws to come here, and continue to not only break the laws while you are here, as well as taking the freebies that citizens have available to them, then you are not American. You are a lawbreaker, and a thief. And therefore, I don’t even care if you obtain citizenship in the future… to me, you will still not be an “American”.

You can say  ”I am American” until you are blue in the face, but in reality, your actions will dictate whether or not you are truly American.

This applies to troop support as well. You can say all day long that you support the troops, but if you do not wish them to be victorious (regardless of whether or not you agree with the battles chosen), and if you will not unconditionally fund their needs, they you do NOT support the troops. Period.

To close the equation, I will simply add this. We are a representative Republic, not a “Democracy”. This means, you vote for your representatives, and they in turn make the decisions in Washington. Win or lose, agree or not, you have to accept those decisions, even those of war. Sometimes swallowing this is difficult to do. But real Americans know how.

First and foremost on your mind, as an American, should be the preservation of this Country- and this is done (sometimes) with our military.

If you cannot support our troops, then you are not, in my mind, “Amercian”.

The utterly BRILLIANT left wing ideologue scientist, Nobel winner, internet creator, and "Champion of the chad recount", Al Gore has once again wowed us with some more amazing feats of observation. Gore says the most recent Myanmar tragedy, Cyclone Nargis, which claimed 200,000 lives, was the result of Global Warming. Nice job, Nostradamus. This has brought on a chorus of rejection from scientists worldwide that claim that NO storm could be directly attributed to either the global warming phenom OR the science... neither of which could support Gore's claims. And this is supposed to be one of the left's "best". God help us. He could have been PRESIDENT.

The passing of Tim Russert brings to mind, for me, the importance of excellent journalism. Russert was one of the finest. While loving life, he would still grill your butt on anything that was the buzz... no free passes, and he understood that journalism was the 4th branch of the US democratic process. Our US political process and the field of Journalism will sorely miss Tim Russert.
  • The most stupidest dumbest ignorantest thang I have heard from the left lately...

Paul Begala, bomb throwing liberal pundit and talk show man, recently made clear what the left truly thinks. And remember, the "left" is supposed to be the party that blacks should love and vote for. Said Begala "We cannot win with egg heads and African-Americans. OK, that is the Dukakis Coalition, which carried ten states and gave us four years of the first George Bush." I totally agree by the way. You cannot win with only black Americans. You CAN win with only eggheads, though... This insinuation that African American support of Obama is the reason for Obama having ANY chance is correct. I think what Begala is saying is the same thing Clinton is saying, in a more veiled way. And I think what Begala is trying to say is "Obama is propped up by an African American vote- and that is IT. He cannot win without it." I agree... but I think it is a stupid to take that approach, or point out such a point of view, especially if you are a person from the party that claims (falsely) to represent the black community BEST.
