An 'I' for an 'I', and 'O' for an 'O'
It is amazing to me, the direction that the current campaign is taking us. The more traditional, respectable methods of campaigning and debating are giving way to hype and “rockstar” publicity tactics. Of course, I am talking about two of the Democrat candidates, Obama and Clinton.
So what does an "I" for an "I", and an "O" for an "O" have to do with it?
As if it is not already a stretch of ethical judgement to have Bill Clinton campaigning for her, Hillary can't even really get the narcissistic cigar brandishing ex-president to actually speak about her at the stops. In a recent stop, the former Philanderer in Chief used the word "I" over 90 times, mentioning his wife a mere handful.
It is hard enough for many to determine if in fact Bill is a liability, or a benevolent force for any campaign. Of course, the talking heads in the "You're not my mommy" party insist he is a plus for anyone. But, as shown recently with his self centered insistence to talk about himself, one has to wonder who would really be elected if Hillary won.
Clinton, speaking about himself, while campaigning for Hillary, is the "I" for an "I".
The "O" for an "O"... well, I know you will figure that one out.
On the Obama bin Unpatriotic side of things, we have another ethical stretch. Billionaire Oprah is a trademark, a TV host and icon, a celebrity of huge proportion. I have a hard enough time with famous people getting involved heavily in politics, but even more of a problem if they have the opportunity to speak to millions daily via their media connections.
Oprah is giving Obama unfair air time, as she has never had, and states she never will, have any other candidates (Democrat) on her show. She might be able to get away with that due to gray areas in the FEC and FCC laws, and the description of her show (passing as a "news" show is a stretch for me), but it does not pass the sniff test for most of us with brains.
Isn't it amazing, that somehow, someway, the more you are able to beat liberals down on logic and ideology, they seem to find new and creative ways to bolster their positions? If you can't win the elections based on merits of your position or arguments, then heck- let's just buy the elections with Soros money. Let's just flock to Hollywood and the Oprah's of the world.
Keep your eyes on the ball, fellow conservatives. EVERY effort to legalize immigrants is just another attempt to create a new, deep voter base enslaved to Government hand outs.
For now, they will have to rely on the rock star fame of Oprah and Bill (and the money of Soros) to try to get them elected.
It is what happens when you have no substance.
